We all have those weeks that our skin is just bringing you down, whether it’s your makeup looking blah, our eyes aren’t bright, our skin is flaky, or your skin is just looking and feeling dull. In moments like this, you truly find the importance in of taking the time for your skin. A proper facial can get pricey and we often don’t get the opportunity for an appointment and in my case that dedicated time away from the baby. I find it so much easier to invest, and when I say invest I mean $50 on eye cream not totally crazy but that can still be pricey for some households, I find it lasts me a lot longer then splurging on actual facials that I realistically can’t go to because I’d rather not find a babysitter.
This routine takes me a good 10-15 minutes and I find it efficient enough time wise to spare maybe once or twice a week along with my everyday skincare routine.
I will be listing products I use but these are just suggestions from my personal experience!
1. Cleanse face with favorite cleanser and brush (if applicable)
-I use a cleanser scrub when I really need a deep clean on my skin it gives me that extra exfoliation I need which leaves my skin looking bright and ready for product
2. Once your skin is completely dry you will go and use some sort of Peel masque, for this post I am using the Peter Thomas Roth Firmx peeling Gel
-This peel is amazing and when I use it my skin is left perfectly supple and no sign’s of my dry skin anywhere! Believe it or not those white balls are dead skin!
3. Once your skin is washed and dried you will apply your favorite mask- I highly recommend a sheet mask but if you have a clay mask this will work too!
-I use my Sei Bella Sheet Rejuvenating facial mask that hydrates, lift’s and firms my skin. I would recommend some sort of hydrating mask after all that exfoliation you’ve done in step 1 and 2. I love how Nip+Fab’s Kale fix clay mask softens my skin so I sometimes use this in replacement of the hydrating sheet mask, just not as often.
4. Apply moisturizer to your face and eyes- Don’t forget this step!
Moisturizers are a big part of keeping your skin looking great. I double my moisturizer with my Sei Bella for daytime which includes SPF 15 and I add a couple drops of Nip + Fab Hydrate which gives it a boost leaving my skin looking moisturized all day. If I do my facial at night I skip the daytime lotion and just to a concentrated moisturizer with the Nip + Fab Hydrate drops. Don’t forget to use an eye cream no matter what time of day it is, eye cream goes a long way! I use Algenist complete eye renewal balm and it works wonders and my under eye makeup looks fantastic and goes on a lot smoother.
I recommend waiting to apply any makeup for at least an hour after to that you give your skin the opportunity to absorb and dry. This regime leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and leaves it dewy so I often just leave it but makeup does go on fine after and if you prefer a dewy foundation look this is the perfect time to apply!
