This school year for my son, Jude, has been an eye-opener for me as a parent. As you may have heard, thousands of educators walked out of their classrooms this year here in Arizona. This meant no school for thousands of students! I was floored when I heard the statistics on how little our teachers and schools were being funded and it really concerned me for the future of our children. I found hope in our teacher’s determination to demand more funding for our students and teachers!
When the #RedForEd movement finally came to a close and Congress found a little more funding, as parents, we were still left with questions. Like, when would we, as a community, do more for our schools and students and where would the extra funding for decent technology come from?
Technology is a huge part of our everyday lives and with things becoming more tech-driven the importance of including technology in our children’s education is common sense! Thankfully, there are companies like CenturyLink who have long supported education and the technology that fuels learning by supporting several education initiatives in Arizona communities. By providing reliable internet service to businesses, schools, and homes all across the state, they are supporting programs like STEM education and fuel superior technology in our schools.
With programs like this, there is hope for our Arizona schools. I believe helping our teachers do what they know best only helps our students grow academically and socially. As a parent, I thank you CenturyLink for funding projects that advance student success!
