Keeping Up My Mental Health

To avoid feeling burnt out around the holidays, I really make it a point to keep my mental health at the top of the list of priorities. It’s so easy for me to get consumed with deadlines, school activities, sports, and other household duties. It becomes so easy to forget about me, and what I need to keep up my mental health strong.

Being their mom keeps me motivated to be my best self, physically and mentally. I think it’s so important to take notice when I am in need of a break. These little breaks come in so many different forms but these are my favorite:

  • Enjoying family time. Ditching my phone and enjoying movies and cuddles with my kids is something I really enjoy (but only when they are in calm mood ha!)
  • Attend a class for yourself. If I need a mental break from my kids, I attend a work out class and I find it so motivating to keep my energy up and mind focused. It’s a great way for me to relieve some stress.
  • Self-care. I know we have all heard it but a really nice long relaxing bath really goes a long way. Things, like reading a book or even catching up on a show without interruptions, can really help me decompress.
  • Slowing down. Another thing that helps me avoid feelings of stress, is writing a list of goals for the day and not putting too much on my plate that day if I am already feeling overwhelmed
  • Plan a getaway. This past November was a mentally hard month for me. We lost two pets that month and work was insane all the while trying to prepare for the holidays. It was nice to just get away with my family and escape the stress at home. You will come back refreshed and ready to take on everything you have waiting for you at home.

Let’s take time for ourselves this holiday season and focus on our mental health. It’s so easy for me to get distracted by everything going on around me and lose focus on what I need in order to stay positive and focused. We often forget that our mental health benefits all those around us.

Holiday Traditions

Thanks to Capital One for sponsoring this post! Please know all opinions are my own and I only share with you what I truly believe in and love!

When I think of the Holidays, Traditions come to my mind and all the good memories that come along with them. Over the years we have stuck with traditions I grew up with and have created new ones with our kids

Our number one favorite thing each Christmas is our Christmas breakfast and gingerbread house decorating! Nothing beats holiday treats and a cup of hot cocoa!

Not only are we filling our hearts with memories but we have to start by filling our carts with the essentials that help us create these moments with our friends and families. Picking up my family’s favorite treats and supplies for our holiday festivities at Walmart just got a whole lot easier!

Don’t let your purchases go unrewarded

With the Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard, you can get rewarded for your purchases! Shopping at Walmart you can earn 5% back when you shop online, or in-store when using Walmart Pay for the first 12 months after approval, and an unlimited 2% back on Walmart purchases in stores. Additionally, you can earn 2% back on restaurants and travel 1% everywhere else! What I love about this offer is I could load my card on to the Walmart app and use the card right away in-store with Walmart Pay and Walmart.com! No need to wait to start planning all the Holiday festivities!

It is a time of year that spending is at its highest, so why not get rewarded for your purchases? It is super easy, you can apply online at Walmart.com/credit!

Their smiles say it all, this season is all about creating these special moments and the importance of spending time with your loved ones. Being savvy with your spending this season is also equally important. Take away the stress and help yourself earn incredible rewards this year with the Capital One Walmart Rewards Mastercard.

Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday!

Christmas at Woodside

Drinks provided by Boozie

Many of you remember my journey purchasing our very first home with Woodside this year and how excited we were to move in over the summer. Once the Holidays came around I couldn’t contain my excitement now that we can celebrate them in our very first home! I’ve also discovered how much fun decorating the Tapeats at Woodside Zanjero Trails has been with all the extra space.

As you can imagine I was so thrilled when I was invited to host a decor inspired workshop this holiday season at the Tapeats Model home located in my community of Zanjero Trails in Surprise, AZ. I was able to select a handful of VIP followers to join in on the fun!

I knew right away the kitchen would be the focal point of my event.

I scored all these wreaths and holiday foliage from Michaels!

For this event, I created a DIY wreath workshop right in this gorgeous kitchen! Space is never an issue with this Tapeats kitchen, there is plenty of counter space and room for everyone to gather. Everyone enjoyed the coziness and amazing design in this home. It made for an amazing night of getting creative and socializing with girlfriends.

Cute Mugs also from Michaels!

I sent home each attendee with a holiday mug filled with cookies, and they took home their beautifully created holiday wreaths!

This beautiful home will get you excited for holiday gatherings. I want to thank Woodside Homes at Zanjero Trails for letting us use their Tapeats Model home! Also a huge thanks to all the lovely ladies who made it out!

A Quick Bite During The Busy Holiday Season

Thanks to Nathan’s Famous for sponsoring this post! Please know all opinions are my own and I only share with you what I truly believe in and love!

It’s that wonderful time of year when gatherings and guests are common in our house. As much as it’s so fun to host guests, it can be stressful not knowing what’s going to be served in between the big family mealtimes!

I got to thinking – comfort food. Who doesn’t love a good, grilled hot dog or a nice, warm grilled cheese sandwich? It’s like the perfect match! Not only is this delicious, but it’s also super quick to make with very little prep!

I am sharing this recipe using Nathan’s Famous All Natural Uncured Beef Franks. I love that these are all natural, minimally processed, uncured, and are free of nitrates and nitrites.

Hot Dog Cheese Melt

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Nathan’s Famous All Natural Uncured Beef Franks
  • Sliced Italian bread
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Sharp cheddar cheese slices

Instructions:

  1. Preheat skillet, and add in butter.
  2. Cut the Nathan’s Famous All Natural Uncured Beef Franks down the middle and in half (This makes it easier to place in the sandwiches!)
  3. Once butter is sizzling, add the beef franks and brown for a minute or two on each side, then remove from pan.
  4. Add one to two slices of cheese and beef franks to the center of the sandwich.
  5. This step is totally optional, but I find it adds a nice crunch! Butter the outside of the sandwich and place on skillet.
  6. Once the cheese has melted, place on a plate and enjoy!

This is not the season that should be filled with stress or worry about what you will feed your holiday guests. My secret for those quick entertaining moments that pop up last minute is keeping delicious, easy-to-prepare options that appeal to all ages stocked in my pantry and fridge, like hot dogs! Nathan’s Famous offers other varieties like Jalapeño & Cheddar Beef Franks or Bun-Length Skinless Beef Franks that your guests are sure to love! No matter what variety you use, you can count on Nathan’s premium 100% natural beef.

Holidays Made Easy!

Thanks to General Mills for sponsoring this post! Please know all opinions are my own and I only share with you what I truly believe in and love!

I love counting down the days all year long for the holiday season to arrive and now it’s here! As much as I prep and anticipate the holidays, I always forget how busy life gets around this time of year.

As much as I want to work on creating the best memories of the year with our families, I can’t ignore that all my other everyday responsibilities still exist.

Staying on top of it all can seem overwhelming and sometimes I feel like I can’t do it all. I’ve come to terms that this feeling is totally ok and that I just need to redirect my energy. If you guys have followed me for a while you’ll know I love partnering up with Walmart especially around the holidays. I’m here to say Walmart online grocery pick up and delivery is my saving grace all year long but I need it most around the holidays.

Not having to worry about roaming the aisles at Walmart, I can simply get what I need for my holiday recipes and family meals so much faster by ordering online. The best part about it isn’t only that you can order what you need with ease, but you can get your groceries delivered directly to your home or pick up at your local Walmart when it’s convenient for you.

With one less thing to worry about this season I can focus on moments like these, baking with my kids is something we love to do around the holidays!

I would love to share one of our family’s favorite desserts we love to bring to all the holiday gatherings. This is the easiest dessert you’ll make! We start off using a container of Pillsbury Crescents Rolls and add some extra ingredients to make the perfect Chocolate Raspberry Crescents!

Raspberry Chocolate Crescents

What You’ll Need:

Topping:

  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar (more if you desire)
  • 4 oz of semi-sweet chocolate
  1. Position oven rack to the center and preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Open Crescents container and unroll the precut crescents.
  3. add 4-5 chocolate morsels and up to 3-4 raspberries per crescent. Add according to size, if you add too much you’ll risk the ingredients flowing out while baking.
  4. Bake for 12 minutes.
  5. Once it is done, let them completely cool.
  6. For the chocolate glaze, melt chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds then stir until completely melted
  7.  Pour glaze over top of the crescents, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  8. Last but not least top with a little powdered sugar
