12 Minute Facial

We all have those weeks that our skin is just bringing you down, whether it’s your makeup looking blah, our eyes aren’t bright, our skin is flaky, or your skin is just looking and feeling dull. In moments like this, you truly find the importance in of taking the time for your skin. A proper facial can get pricey and we often don’t get the opportunity for an appointment and in my case that dedicated time away from the baby. I find it so much easier to invest, and when I say invest I mean $50 on eye cream not totally crazy but that can still be pricey for some households, I find it lasts me a lot longer then splurging on actual facials that I realistically can’t go to because I’d rather not find a babysitter.

This routine takes me a good 10-15 minutes and I find it efficient enough time wise to spare maybe once or twice a week along with my everyday skincare routine.

I will be listing products I use but these are just suggestions from my personal experience!

1. Cleanse face with favorite cleanser and brush (if applicable)

-I use a cleanser scrub when I really need a deep clean on my skin it gives me that extra exfoliation I need which leaves my skin looking bright and ready for product

2. Once your skin is completely dry you will go and use some sort of Peel masque, for this post I am using the Peter Thomas Roth Firmx peeling Gel

-This peel is amazing and when I use it my skin is left perfectly supple and no sign’s of my dry skin anywhere! Believe it or not those white balls are dead skin!

3. Once your skin is washed and dried you will apply your favorite mask- I highly recommend a sheet mask but if you have a clay mask this will work too!

-I use my Sei Bella Sheet Rejuvenating facial mask that hydrates, lift’s and firms my skin. I would recommend some sort of hydrating mask after all that exfoliation you’ve done in step 1 and 2. I love how Nip+Fab’s Kale fix clay mask softens my skin so I sometimes use this in replacement of the hydrating sheet mask, just not as often.

4. Apply moisturizer to your face and eyes- Don’t forget this step!

Moisturizers are a big part of keeping your skin looking great. I double my moisturizer with my Sei Bella for daytime which includes SPF 15 and I add a couple drops of Nip + Fab Hydrate which gives it a boost leaving my skin looking moisturized all day. If I do my facial at night I skip the daytime lotion and just to a concentrated moisturizer with the Nip + Fab Hydrate drops. Don’t forget to use an eye cream no matter what time of day it is, eye cream goes a long way! I use Algenist complete eye renewal balm and it works wonders and my under eye makeup looks fantastic and goes on a lot smoother.

I recommend waiting to apply any makeup for at least an hour after to that you give your skin the opportunity to absorb and dry. This regime leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and leaves it dewy so I often just leave it but makeup does go on fine after and if you prefer a dewy foundation look this is the perfect time to apply!

The truth about having kids before marriage

It’s looked down in many cultures to have kids before marriage, But is it crazy that I wouldn’t change it if I could go back and do it over?

Let me go back to the beginning, I met my husband when I was 16 we didn’t start dating until we were 22 and I found out I was pregnant a couple months after. I will be completely honest here I wasn’t particularly excited about the news, I was more shocked and it just felt like something special was happening but I couldn’t grasp how having Jude would change me.

I never considered getting married to Israel right away after we found out, I knew in my heart I wasn’t ready for that commitment yet and I surely wouldn’t force it because of this pregnancy. I found it easier to focus on preparing us to be parents and getting to a place where I knew we needed to be to welcome this baby. I knew I loved Israel, and I never worried about whether or not I did, I just knew that in time I would know I was ready to marry the father of my son.

The time came and Jude was here, We both had no idea how such a little baby would bring about such an incredibly strong love even between us, I fell in love more with Israel as a father then I had ever felt before. Things took some adjusting and I  would still think to myself, Marriage? no, not yet.. I know not everyone starts out the same way with their significant other but let’s just say it was a rough start. We were enjoying getting to know each other on a whole different level I knew this was right for us. It wasn’t until Jude was 3 or 4 years old that I started to feel like we were at a place where marriage would work, we loved each other differently now, I knew in my heart this man I could live for and trust.

Having Jude taught us more than parenthood, It taught us to not take each other for granted, taught us to love each other and appreciate our flaws. We still had a lot to learn at 23, when we became parents we had to learn how to work together and respect one another for the sake of keeping our baby happy and healthy. It wasn’t until I stopped doing it for Jude’s sake and for the sake of my love for Israel that I knew I was ready to get married.

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask Review Video

Dealing with acne as an adult can get super frustrating, especially when I try everything under the sun to have fresh and beautiful skin. I have tried traditional light therapy for my acne at the dermatologist and it left my skin feeling clean and break-outs didn’t last as long and my skin looked great. I was excited when I heard about this at home light therapy mask by Neutrogena, I don’t suffer as much with break-outs now but I do deal with redness and small little pimples here and there.

I tried this mask for 30 days straight once at night after my nightly face wash here are some things I  liked about this mask:

  • Super light weight mask
  • Has an eye opening so I can multi-task
  • Noticed a difference in my skin after 2 weeks-less breakouts and less redness
  • Everyone thought it was the coolest thing
  • Activator is pretty simple to use
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Easy to clean
  • Activators are affordable once you finish the 30 days

One thing I wasn’t so crazy about:

  • If you accidently activate the activator there’s no going back you still get deducted a use. This happened twice, my son thought it would be fun to play with lol
