Summer break always manages to fly by and we are still left having to plan and prep our kids for the new school year. Like the beginning of each school year, Jude starts out nervous about meeting the new kids and teacher. I have found that talking to him about how exciting it will be to meet new friends and to see his friends from last year eases his nerves enough that he starts to show excitement! As a parent I like to mentally prepare my child for the new things he will be learning and discovering in the new grade, I do this by introducing him to second-grade work books and flash cards, as well as bringing in some grade level reading books.
