Halloween Decor Ideas

Something about Halloween gets me excited for the cooler days ahead. I love to decorate my house the last week of September, it’s a way to get the family excited about the new season! I put a little touch of Halloween decorations throughout our main floor ie. dining room, living room, kitchen, and entryway.

A lot of my holiday decor comes from places like HomeGoods, Target, Marshalls, Pottery Barn, and World Market. My favorite items include the lit black willow lights, paper stock bats and felt ghosts!

Get in the spooky spirit with Halloween Countdown Calendars!

Another great tradition we have for Halloween is this adorable felt Halloween advent calendar I purchased used from a neighbor but its originally from Pottery Barn Kids! I checked their website and it seems like they are sold out of any Halloween calendars at the moment but I would definitely keep checking they usually restock.

I’ve come up with a list of cute ideas to fill your calendars with! It’s always important to keep in mind the age of your children and stock it up appropriately too! With Jude and Eli being 6 years apart I have to make sure to add items that will be safe and fun for Eli too. I often will put something different for each of them in order to keep it age appropriate!

I will be completely honest here, I filled this year’s calendar a week into October ha! Ideally (if your really good and prepared!) its best to stock up on some of these goodies at Halloween sales after the holiday and save for the following year or even a week before October to have it nice and stocked at the beginning of the month. It’s also ok to be late like I was, the months really do fly by!

There are so many ideas you can incorporate with this holiday. I really love when my kids get excited about our little traditions. Our home feels so much more full and happier during these holiday months with all the fun creative decorations. You can never have too many pumpkins and spooky fall decor!
